The Summer I Found You - Jolene Perry
I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

When I first read the plot, I was really looking forward for a fast, enjoyable, and great read. I was really expecting a lot from this book despite the cover making me reluctant (and I had not mistaken).

This book was a major disappointment. For the first few chapters I was really hoping for the plot to move a little faster: less immaturity, more of the important keys. But honestly, nothing. The relationship seemed to look so forced with the predictable background.

The major characters weren't helping either, and I mean Kate. She is one of the most self-centered characters I have ever encountered and it bothers me how I actually scowl while reading her perspective. Aidan (or Aiden, also a sub point for the 2 stars because I have no idea if the author couldn't decide if she loved to spell the name more with an A or an E) wasn't much of an improvement either. Throughout my just-get-on-with-it phase, I really expected him to make me continue on flipping the pages but he was just as bland as Kate. There could've been so much more to his character but he's been drowned by the stereotype that it just annoyed me to proceed.

Also, why would you name a book THE SUMMER I FOUND YOU when there is literally no sign of summer in the story?

Overall, the book was an 'okay' read, but it just really did not reach my expectations.
